Each state and territory participating in NRSCH has a Registrar or appoints a Registrar from another jurisdiction to apply the National Law and regulate providers within their jurisdiction.
The role of each Registrar includes:
- maintain the National Register for community housing providers
- assess and registering community housing providers
- monitor registered providers’ compliance with the National Law
- intervene when registered providers do not comply with the National Law and taking appropriate enforcement action, and
- cancel the registration of a non-compliant provider where necessary.
