Chris has worked extensively as a lawyer in social and affordable housing and brings a wealth of knowledge, particularly related to residential tenancies law, community housing and social housing legislation. He was centrally involved in all four tranches of New South Wales’ community housing legislation, including that tranche which became the National Law.
Chris has extensive experience as a lawyer in both the private and public sector. His previous role was as Director, Housing (Legal Services), with the Department of Communities and Justice. He has previously worked in a regulatory role as a legal adviser with the former Australian Broadcasting Authority.
Chris commenced in the role of NSW Registrar of Community Housing on Monday 4 November 2019.
Craig has been in the Registrar role since January 2019, and has managed either contractual or regulatory functions with the community housing sector since 2006. Prior to this Craig has worked across public and private agencies involved with Indigenous agribusiness enterprises, regulation of personal bankruptcies, and minimum housing standards. Craig holds qualifications as a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, and Certificate IV in Investigations and Statutory Compliance.
Pete is based in Hobart and leads the Housing and Urban Renewal Team in Building Tasmania. He has a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Master of Public Administration (MPA) and 40-years’ experience in service delivery, senior management, and statutory roles.
He has worked in the disability, housing, mental health, and alcohol and other drug sectors, and the historic environment, infrastructure strategy, and housing portfolio areas.
Pete has an active interest in fostering good individual, community, and systemic outcomes, developing sound public policy and legislation, and values the work done by the Tasmanian housing sector and Community Housing Providers to support those in need.
Karl Frank was appointed the Registrar for Queensland’s National Regulatory System for Community Housing branch in January 2023. He has worked in the public sector since 1998 in a range of strategic and operational roles in regulation, finance and business services. Karl’s executive roles have included leading the Queensland Department of Transport’s Heavy Vehicle compliance function and holding senior roles in Brisbane City Council’s Natural Environment, and City Planning and Economic Development branches. Karl holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Accountancy) from the Queensland University of Technology.
Maggie Drejer-White was appointed to the role of the ACT Human Services Registrar in June 2024 and is responsible for the regulation of community housing providers; non NDIS registered disability service providers; and non-government care and protection service providers.
Maggie is a versatile executive with over 25 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, nationally and internationally, with specialisation in governance structures, policy development, legislative and regulatory compliance as well as an avid interest in alternate dispute resolution and restorative practice.
In addition to law and psychology degrees, Maggie holds qualifications in arbitration and mediation.
